Pediatric Short Term Care
"The Children's Center at The Phoenix offers Short Term Care services for a variety of reasons. Children may need need nutrition assessment/support, seizure management, medication management, postsurgical care, pain management, and rehabilitation services.
Short term admission to The Childrens Center and can last anywhere from several days to several months. Longer that several months, we would recommend a transition to long term care services. Patients may be admitted for short-term rehabilitation following a hospitalization as a step-down from acute care, as well as long-term residential stays for children whose medical needs exceed what their family can provide at home. A short term admission can also provide families and caregivers relief and a period of time to reenergize the family while impacted children are skillfully cared for.
We provide 24 hour care to medically fragile children and young people who need additional care before going home.
In order to qualify for short term admission, your child must be younger than the age of 21 and:
Require skilled nursing for medically fragile children with conditions such as:
- Cardiac Anomaly
- Cerebral Palsy
- Cystic Fibrosis
- Muscular Dystrophy
- Intensive Wound Care Treatment
- Pre/Post Organ Transplant Care
- Hospice/Palliative Care
- BPD (Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia)
- Chronic Respiratory Disease
- Birth Defects & Genetic Disorders
- Paralyzing or Neuromuscular Diseases
- Spinal Cord Disease/Injury
- Anoxic Encephalopathy
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Seizure Disorder
